Introducing our new Tea Ceremony
Written by Grace
tea has been enjoyed by humans for thousands of years and is an essential part of daily culture in many countries all over the world.
From China, Japan, India and Russia to Iran, Turkey, England and Ireland, tea is one of our most beloved beverages.
Drinking tea is also a gateway into ritual and can help us cultivate mindfulness in a world where we’re so often multi-tasking and moving quickly.
As such, we are thrilled to announce our newest wellness activity: our Tea Ceremony.
Tea was first consumed in China around the 3rd Century, and eventually spread to the rest of the globe. When drinking tea became popular in Japan around the 8th Century, the act was ritualised through tea ceremonies (also known as sadō or chadō), where green tea (matcha) would be prepared using special instruments and shared in a tranquil, simple tatami room.
Influenced by Zen Buddhism, Japanese tea ceremonies are steeped in sacredness and spirituality. They are underpinned by the philosophy of Wa, Kei, Sei, Jaku — or “Harmony, respect, purity, tranquillity”.

Our own Tea Ceremony is performed in our new, dedicated Tea Dome. This space is designed to offer a sense of calm and reprieve from the busyness of modern life.
In this ceremony, guests are served a range of Organic India Tulsi Teas. These are herbal teas infused with Tulsi (also known as “holy basil”) — an Indian herb famously beloved for its medicinal powers. Tulsi Teas feature various other herbs known for their healing properties in Ayurveda (traditional Indian medicine), including turmeric, ginger, Ashwagandha, sweet rose, licorice, cinnamon and mint.
During the experience, your facilitator will mindfully prepare and pour tea for you, and you will be invited to pause, wrap your hands around your warming cup of tea and ground yourself in the present moment.
You will also learn about the various benefits of Tulsi Tea from an Ayurvedic perspective. These teas have been crafted to soothe stress and tension, uplift the mind, boost mood, support the immune system and promote detoxification.
If you’re looking to deepen your connection with mindfulness, the simple yet profound ceremony will help you create a new meditative daily ritual.
You will emerge from the Tea Dome feeling refreshed, grounded and instilled with practical Ayurvedic knowledge. Participants will also take home an enveloped sample of Tulsi Teas to continue their own personal tea ceremony at home.
