about our artists
Georgia Fields and the Andromeda String Quartet will perform string arrangements of Georgia's original songs, along with a few distinctively reimagined covers. This collaboration is equal parts elegant and ethereal, blurring the lines between evocative chamber-folk and playful art-pop. Georgia incorporates live looping and extended techniques from the string players, pushing the boundaries of both her voice and the instruments themselves. This performance is ideal for lovers of music and sonic exploration.
Georgia Fields
Georgia is a critically acclaimed independent singer-songwriter. She studied the cello as a teenager and brings this appreciation for the instrument to her freelance work as a string arranger/composer. Traversing the realms of indie-folk and art-pop across 3 albums and 2 EPs, Georgia has established herself as one of Naarm's most imaginative sonic storytellers. Her latest album Hiraeth was awarded 4-stars by The Australian newspaper. Performance highlights include Brisbane Powerhouse, Mullum Music Festival NSW, and Melbourne Fashion Week, plus support spots for Katie Noonan, Clare Bowditch, Didirri, Pierce Brothers, Mia Dyson, Ella Hooper, and Frente.
